The Ultimate List of Purpose-Driven Apps Making an Impact.
Apps For Good Spotlight—Ganddee
In a world grappling with overconsumption, Ganddee is on a mission to make second-hand shopping not just easier, but irresistible. The app was born from a simple thought: incredible pre-loved finds are hiding in plain sight, but most people don’t know where to start.
Founded by Antoine Rondelet and Ankit Agrawal, the app connects users with nearby second-hand shops, flea markets, and car boot sales to make circular purchases more accessible. Ganddee helps users plan their thrift trips in cities, so they can start with a clear goal and only focus on the fun. ‘Second-hand shopping in real life is a treasure hunt, it's social, has no hidden fees, and lets you try items on and inspect them (important when items had a previous life!)’, says CEO Antoine Rondelet. ‘With Ganddee, we're connecting thousands of second-hand shops with second-hand shoppers looking for that experience. Thrifting isn't about scrolling on your sofa—it's about going on a treasure hunt and having fun with friends.’
With the broader mission to catalyse local zero-waste economies, Ganddee frames sustainable shopping as a practical response to the climate crisis. By supporting bricks-and-mortar retailers and helping extend the lifecycle of products, the platform encourages mindful consumption and builds community.
Currently bootstrapped, Ganddee is supported by organisations such as ESADE, Unrest, and the Startup Discovery School. They have also received an innovation voucher via Big South London and the University of Arts London (UAL).
As Ganddee lays the groundwork for a more connected closed-loop ecosystem, our team at Kurve predicts a path towards significant growth:
- Ganddee combines online convenience and IRL fun, which has been proven to be a critical factor in helping physical, independent stores thrive.
- Leading brands in the second-hand sector have experienced exponential growth in recent years.
- A total of 54% of under-20s say that sustainability is a key factor in their fashion choices.
